The Corporation trade names, trademarks and service marks are important and valuable business assets. They help identify the source and the reputation of the Corporation's products and services worldwide and distinguish them from those of competitors. Therefore, the Corporation makes every effort to protect its trademarks, its corporate logotype, label designs and various product names and ensure that others do not misuse them. The Corporation will not allow use of its trade name (company name), trademarks (brand names), designs or symbols by any person, including an Independent Business Owner, without prior permission being granted by the Corporation. The use of the Amway name (in any fashion) in reference to any item that is not a Amway product is misleading and an infringement of the Corporation's property rights described above. The Corporation's printed materials are copyrighted and may not be reproduced in whole or in part by IBOs or other persons except by written permission from the Corporation.

IBOs are prohibited from advertising or selling products obtained from Amway through forums such as Ebay, Stores, Motors, Half, and Express. In addition to the Trade Name, Trademark and Copyright information above, Independent Business Owners must adhere to the Rules of Conduct including:

Rule 9.8 states, except as provided in Rules 4.3.2 and 8.3.11, under no circumstances may IBOs advertise or promote the Corporation's products, services, or business opportunity through the use of mass communication methods including the Internet."

Rule 4.3 states, "No IBO shall permit the Corporation's products or services to be sold or displayed in retail establishments including Internet websites." Ebay is considered a retail establishment.

Rule 4.16 states, "No IBO may export or import, or knowingly sell to others who import or export the Corporation's products from the United States or its possessions or territories."
